Hourly Comic Day

Today was a wonderful day known as Hourly Comic Day, a thing I had never heard of before, but which seems like one of the better sorts of things the internet gives rise to.  Many, many people contributed.  Including me.  It was fun to have a reason to dash off sloppy comics again.  I always forget that this is one of my favorite things to do.

  1. Beautiful handwriting!

  2. marc says:

Thank you. You can tell how much work I put into my calligraphy.

  3. Jo W says:

I never knew about this day. I’ll have to give it a shot next year. I found yours amusing. I can’t stop laughing at the way you drew your dog’s face.

  4. marc says:

Thanks, Jo–I never could draw animals. They all look like that. Could just as easily ask how you knew it was our dog because I would have drawn our horse the same way. I didn’t know about it either till yesterday morning, but I don’t think my effort would have been any better with more preparation. Next year, though!

I heard about it from the amazing web comic artist Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant!). If you don’t know her stuff, you should go and read it all.

  5. Jo W says:

That must be one furry horse if it could look like a dog.

    You hate Firefly?!
    Whadya think of Farscape??

  7. marc says:

I seem to be one of those people immune to Whedon, except for that awesome letter he wrote offering to take over the Terminator franchise. Never watched Farscape.

  8. DemonGithara says:

Farscape is ok, but Red Dwarf is where it’s at. And I heard Dr. Who was decent.

  9. DemonGithara says:

Never heard of the Whedon, or maybe I have and didn’t know, but the letter was funny…

  10. DemonGithara says:

This is the Terminator they should do next. Just go totally old school with it. Really old school:

    Terminator vs Jesus

  11. marc says:

I certainly agree that Red Dwarf is about as good as televised SF gets. Many forms reach their peak in parody.

  12. DemonGithara says:

    Well, I don’t actually watch TV. I know, I’m weird…
But, I’m like ole Lord British of Fable. I have fixations on English culture….

  13. Why watching TV when you could be doing anything else, such as… I dunno, something?

  14. DemonGithara says:

In other words, TV rots your brain, as we see with our friend agente.

It’s like spraying black paint on your third eye.

  15. DemonGithara says:

And by the way, why do you hate firefly? Just wondering bro……..

  16. D BEALE says:

I love that, that is so our house, EXCEPT I finally got the dogs to OBEY the idea that breakfast does not happen till 10 in the morning
